I think you'd get a huge improvement just by ensuring the glass is well cleaned both inside and out!

Nice Goby and Shrimp.

Don't know too much about the ins and outs photography but a handy tip I learned was to clean the glass before you take pics, it helps no end. :D

Hi, After Cleaning The Glass As Suggested, You Could Set Your 350 On The Sprinter (looking) Setting, And Fix The Focus On The Fish, And Follow Him Tll You Are Ready To Take The Pic, Or Set The Shutter Speed To A Faster Shutter Speed, To Capture The Fish Quicker, It Will Improve The Focus, You May End Up Taking A Lot Of Shots, Before You Are Happy With One, Photography Is Like Setting The Rocks, It Takes Many Mountain Formations Before One Looks Right Lol. Think your right. here is a pic of my green star polyp. Compared to my last effort which was rightly slated is the colour etc better on these? Comments please..

Wasn't slating - thought you wanted to be "told straight"! They were certainly better than a fair few that are posted!! :D

Re the green star polyps - do you switch off the pumps when taking photos? If not because of the comparatively slow shutter speed due to lighting constraints you'll get a fair bit of movement/blurring. Temporarily switching off circulation pumps certainly helps in that regard.

I generally use a Stanley knife blade - like a knife through butter! Careful of the silicone though! :D

what you have to decide as a photographer, do you want movement or "still life". switching off the pumps will reduce the flow movement, and using a tripod will cerrtainly help, but it is like taking pictures of waterfalls/fountains, the faster the shutter speed, the sharper the water, personally i like the movement in your image, the movoemnt makes the image come alve, so keep up the good work, remeber there is no wrong or right attitude to taking photos, it is finding the "right" retort to the critics views. LOL Alex

........ and if you can't do that ... then it's wrong photography ;)
