New Product Algea X

HI

Ultra AlgeaX is a very strong and effective solution to remove
any hairy or plague type algae growth in Reef Tanks, it also
removes dinoflagellates and Briopsis algae. It treats algae
plauges in reef aquariums without harming any corals. AlgeaX
does not destabilise the aquarium system. AlgeaX is not a
treatment for Cyano bacteria but for all type of algea´s.

Hi Claude,

I am running the full FM system, ULNS, Balling etc. What is the dosing and instructions for using this and where can I get it, have STM got it yet? Are there any articles I can read about it? My Bryopsis is turning into a real PITA and am willing to give it a try after trying all the natural things.

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Gearbox

Did you have still briopsis ?

The product is not developed for the Zeolith system
you must remove during the treatment the zeolithes.

Algea X works on a organic way and disturb the algeas
in their feeding cycle so they die very slowly and
did not add the poison wich are in some algeas at one time in the tank.
this is very important on dinoflagellates.

The zooxanthelles will be protected by the coral so it is not a problem for corals
It is necessary not to overdose and sometimes the corals react a little bit
but this is no problem cause the Algea X will be removed completly by the bacterias in the tank

Claude,

I have been running UNLS with the FM system since the tank was started and the bryopsis is still growing well. Been pulling it out by hand, if you say Algae X shouldn't be used while running the ultralith system then I might try raising MAG first and then using this as a last resort.

If after raising MAG I still have the bryopsis, should I add this and stop all ULNS, i.e. turn off the ultralith reactor and stop dosing bio, mins, bak and amin while I wait for the Algae X to work?

thanks,

Matt.

Claude what effect/impact does this have on coralline algae?

I am assuming this is not specific to certain algae products but acts on all generically?

Thanks
Ahmed

Not used the product, but I have chatted to Claude about it. If you use this product for a long time, it will affect coraline as well.

Use this product if you are having severe problems and have exhausted all other avenues. Once the problem has cleared, stop using it.

HI

The algeas reacet different to the product
some of them can kill very fast others need several dosings sometimes weeks till the algeas are dead.

Coraline algeas need very long time til they showed an reaction on Algea x
but it is possible
