Hh, Elemnets is exactly what it says on the box, it JUST Elements of Photoshop, It will work just fine, but there may be some aspects you will not have with it, What Mac are you running? I have old Photoshop (7 and the next upgrade) if it runs on your operating system you are welcome to it,

I do not endorce COPYING software, it is theft. Having said that I as a photographer (student) a few years back, there was no way i could afford to put the latest software on my computere, especially as I had bot Mac and PC to feed.

Have you looked on the EBay web site, to see if anyone is selling later software.

also remeber Adobe update their software as often as Cleaner Shrimps do theirs, I know of only a couple of people who have ever worked their way through Photoshop from back to front and inside out, I have CS2 on my laptop, and see NO WAY I can update it, in the next lifetime. I know I have not answered your question completely, but hope it helps, Alex

Elements is great for general image manipulation,it will do most stuff keen amateur/hobbyists require.Depends how serious you want to get and if you are looking for professional type post production features,if not you probably wont use most of the stuff included in Photoshop.

Lightroom is my favourite now.

You will never ever use maybe 20% of the Photoshop functions.

Lightroom absolutely rocks for RAW.
