P.A.D. I don't know if you heard of a place called Crayke in Yorkshire but here's a video link to a sunset I filmed there last year. One of the best I ever saw in the UK till tonights where I filmed over 20 minutes in the reflection at the lake I was at. Link here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oSWGGBBzDsA
Stunning pics & video 3 Barrels. I would have liked to have got a more rural image but only just caught it in time from my bedroom window before it was gone. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll drive out of town to try and catch it.
Phil.
just making a vid of the sunset tonight. Will send you a link to it.
Good luck for tomorrow evening! Sunsets are great.
Check this video out of the same sunset.
Enjoy.

Just got a price for the top pic to be put on canvas. £250.00, 5 foot by 40" I think it would look great on the wall.

This is one of my favourite 'sunsets' from about a month or so ago. I say that in quotes because a harr had descended on the Forth, making it quite misty and foggy so it didn't really end up much of a sunset, but I like it.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3182/2469698315_4d90b177a5_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/onefivenine/2469698315/)
Made from 3 shots stitched together, taken at 24mm, ISO100, 1/6s, f/8.
Used a 3 stop ND filter and a 3 stop Hard Grad ND filter for the sky.
Hope you like! :)

Cool pics, I have to admit i'm bloomin tempted to photoshop it and put a golfer in behind Epcot getting reading to tee off!!

check out my website swiftgallery.co.uk could do that a little cheaper for a UR user
I collected my canvass today from valentini. I have to say it looks absolutely fantastic hanging on the wall. Now I get to see the nano to my left, the sunset to the right from my la z boy chair. And as an added bonus I get to see all the wires in my flat too! Pic below.

Very nice 3 barrels, but tell me, why is there a pumpkin hanging from your ceiling and a shoe sitting in your armchair ???

Ordered my canvass today from valentini, what a top bloke, Very helpful, and mention your a member of UR for a nice discount.
The shoe is on the chair because I couldn't ind the hammer to knock the nail into the wall so had to use the heel of the shoe instead! As for the pumpkin, well I'm hoping it will rot and extinguish the electrical fire caused by all the wires!
How about this for a sunset video.....

I filmed this but looking at it again it could have been loads better by zooming right in on it.
I know its not as pretty as the others but I like it. Neither sunset or sunrise. It's about 2.30am, sun doesn't fully set this time of year.

nice shot Matt. The best on here so far.
I notice your question about printing and see you got it done eventually.
Just wondering, any ideas what resolution the final print come out at?
The reason I ask is because 1024x768 is a very small image for print purposes. At 300dpi (magazine cover res... which I believe is roughly what your Sony produces), the largest image you could have printed from an image this size would have been about 3.5 x 2.5 inches.
To get a 5 foot wide image, I think you'd have had to drop to about 17 pixels per inch resolution(!) which would have looked rather blocky to say the least! If you made the printer aware of the original image size, I am surprised they even quoted you on this as most have a lower limit that is substantially above this mark.
Not to denegrate from the image - just to hopefully explain a bit about print resolutions as I see it wasn't really answered. I think your camera (which I see is a camcorder) can actually shoot at 2016 x 1512 which is slightly better.. so the message is use the best quality setting/biggest size if printing is your goal.
I printed this job for 3 barrels was a challenge dew to the low res , managed to push it to about 4ft using a few tricks but still looked great on the wall ;)
top job on the canvas too!

what tricks did you use? just interested as I am considering getting one of my panos printed out at some point.

nice pics Suk,
Second shot is well weird.
Where did you stay in Kuramathi Suk?
I'm booked to go there in a couple of weeks!
Craig - Cheers m8, I quite like that shot & agree it's a bit weird (surreal). I took it on the boat coming back from a shopping trip to Rasdoo, just a quick hop over the channel. Kuramathi Island on the left & the Rasdoo Atol lagoon on the right.
3 Barrels - I stayed at the village, best place & most popular imo. Check out my 800 or so pics on my website, link below.
Have a great time & let us know how you got on.
:D
Thanks for that Suk. We're going to stay at Coconut Village too. I CANNOT wait to get there, and I'll defo let you know what it's like. I've got my underwater cam all ready to go so will post some vids here.
PS, your link doesn't appear to be working???????
Got it, just looked at the Scuba thread where the pics are too.
Brill pics.
Taken in Antigua at a place called shirley heights, not the best of photo's but 1 hell of a great place.http://www.ultimatereef.net/uploader/2008Q3/DSCF0056 (1008 x 756).jpg
