We watched a blackbird build her nest last year, this year she has rewarded us by showing of her baby:). Just a couple of shots taken earlier.

Think you offended the 'mum' because thats a male blackbird.:D:oOoops. Oh well, goes to show I know even less about birds than I do photography:o. I assume you can tell by the colour? Female would be more brown? Hopefully mum is putting her feet up somewhere then?;)

Very cute. Hopefully they'll keep coming back. We've had a nest in the front hedge for the last four years or so now.

It used to worry the hell out of me 'cause we've got three cats. However, I often see the parents in the tree hoping up a branch at a time "laughing" as the cats try to keep up without falling off. I think it's some kind of game - shows how daft my moggies are I guess!

Yeah female is brown and slightly speckeld and doesn't have the yellow beak.
