DSLR advise

I was to start looking for My 1st DSLR Camera having only used point and shoot cameras before currently a Sony DSC-W30, what camera could you recommend either new or 2nd Hand. Nikon D40/D70, Canon 400D and so on, there is so many I'm not even concerned about it being brand new?

I was going through the same issue a couple of months back, wait for the new Nikons or get a D80, I am glad I went with the D80 the price is low at the moment and its a excellant piece of kit to grow into.

Shop around for a bargain or a kit price.
