i have a "nikon coolpix5000" digital camera,

i can never seem to get good reef shots of my tank, and wouldnt mind someones help?! when it comes to photography i havnt got a clue.

i am using default settings and changed mode to macro at moment and getting shots like;

resized in photoshop not edited.

this is using a nikon tripod also with clean glass inside and out,

what settings would i need to alter? or play with?? there are so many :)

hi m8 not a geek on cameras but just so you know i use the exact same camera for all of our pics and i think most of them come out fine .
normal pic with flash off normally.
sometimes for close up they have the option for that but i do nothing special.

so in all honesty :confused::confused:

Id say it looks like the picture is either being distorted by the glass or the camera is focusing on the glass itself instead of the subject. If your using auto focus, some cameras also struggle to focus when the lighting conditions are low. Try taking a picture square on to the glass and using either the macro or infinate focus setting.

Your tank bow fronted by any chance, try making your pictures from the side if so.
