Evening shots

Okay this is my first attempt at taking pictures at night - these were taken at Eling tide mill (on southampton water) last night about 10.30pm. Felt a bit strange setting up my tripod in the dark but I suppose you get used to it!
Looking for criticism as I'm keen to improve.

Some nice shots, but I find the lights in the background a little too distracting.

Why not try a HDR version so you effectively level them out?
