thoughts on a canon powershot G9?

anyone got a cannon powershot G9 ?
thinking about buying one as i dont wants a dslr.
would love to see some photo examples if you have any and are they any good with aquarium macros?.....again examples would be appreciated!

i looked at the casio but i dont want anything that bulky.
i would go for a seperate camera body and lens if i was spending that much also tbh.
i borrowed my brothers DSLR for a bit and found it was like carrying a baby around with you.....i just know it would end up like my sony handycam did...sulking in a drawer as i cant be arsed carrying it.

i know the cannon is not small for a compact but is a good half way house.

I've had a Powershot G6 and it was a great camera. (I sold as I didnt have a tank at the time so didnt use it enough)

As for Macros I assume the G9 has similar Macro and Super Macro modes as the G6, I took clear full screen shots of the hallmarks on the inside of a ring, so tank Macros should be a doddle.

Whatever you decide don't get a G7, it didn't shoot in RAW like the G6 and G9 and doesn't have the twist and flip screen and remote control the G6 has.

My brother has the G7 and its a mighty fine camera although it hasnt got Raw he has modded the firmware to include it.The G9 can only be better and i really enjoy using the G7 which is pretty much the same camera just not as well specced.
