Hi,
Am i the only person to post in this section.:D
I was wondering do converters really make you lose thatmuch sharpness. I have been told that 1.4x aren't too bad but the 2x lose sharpness and detail.
Is this true as it is only a £1 difference where i am looking.

I think it`s more how much light they let through. The x2 lets alot less than the x1.4. With the lovely bright conditions we dont get in the UK adding a X2 you may find when fitted the lens is unusable.

Yeah i went for the 1.4x. Even though it will be used with my macro also i couldnt afford both at the moment and will see what it looks like.

As mentioned you will loose stops with convertors,the longer the convertor the more stops you will loose.The lens your using them on will also effect the quality of the final image.You may also loose AF if you use on a lens with a maximum aperture of 5.6.
