In your tank, if you were to loose some stock, what would you miss most?
Would it be a fish, invert or coral?
Also, why would you miss it the most? Because of it's sentimental value, or because you paid a lot of money for it, or have you just had it along time?
I know personally that I would miss the fish the most, in-particular the lawnmower blenny. I only have a small-ish tank but I feel in my tank he is most characterful and the tank wouldn't be the same without him. ATM I haven't entered into the world of LPS and SPS so I don't know if having them would change my mind.
Anyway, would really like to hear other peoples thoughts on this.
:thanks:
Without question all my fish.
The corals are secondary, it is after all a fish tank.
I'd miss my anemones most.
Got four of them at the moment.
i have a mantis shrimp, i would be heart broken if he died! and i also have a pair of mating clarkii clowns! i have had them since the start of my setup and they wheren't a pair at the start and now lay babies monthly! a few weeks back i thought one had jumped out of the tank to her death and was utterly devasted, but found her hours later hiding in the weir! i have never been so releaved. i now consider them my favourite thing:wub::wub: and the nems they live in would tear me up if they died! so everything! mainly fish though!
now i have a rare coral too, so i may get attached to that;)
Hi,i would have to be greedy and say all 3 !
The fish have their own personalities, but so do the invert's,and i love my LPS coral's,really interesting and i love feeding them.
All of these make a tank anyway in my opinion.
A lovely tank with fish, invert's and coral's is the bizz.
Julie.
dont have many corals, just building them up...nice to look at but cant say,i have a love attachment to them...i see them as a plant..but then none have died so i dont know how id feel until that time i suppose...but i think i would be more attached to a nem f i had one as it does its on thing,...fish wise,i love them all...theyre all so different,,the clowns are so sweet, but so are the chromis...the blenny is a funny character,as are the shrimps, the boxing shrimp,...the mandarin comes and goes and is pretty to look at,the star adds some colour too when hes about......and my yellow tang is striking....my cardinals are new,but are gorgeous(cant wait for babies:D)....the cleaner wrasse is i suppose top of my list as he seems to interact with you....i should have a tangerne line goby, but hasnt come out for a feed this morning so im a bit concerned about him,hes been wth me from the start...they all add a little something by colour and character....just need a goby and commensal shrimp and my stock is complete:wub:

Thanks for all your comments,
For those who chose corals, can I ask why? Is it a certain coral or do you not keep fish? Do you keep mainly a coral only tank / frag tank? I'm by no means saying its a bad thing, I'm just wondering. I haven't got many corals yet and the only ones I have are softies. Do you get more attached to LPS or SPS?
Thanks again
I try to take pride in everything so i would not be happy if i lost anything to be honest.
has to be fish, they respond to you

gotta be the fish! it's all about the fish!
my most cherished is the equipment that runs the show
why ?
because if this fails in a big way, then i stand to loose all the fish , corals etc
life support, thats what to cherish, the rest is just for aesthetics:laugh:

Tets,
It's interesting that you should say that, however, I assume you would be just as upset if you lost a cherished fish?

No brainer - fish, why? Fish are pets.
But corals are animals too and so qualify as pets :)
coming from trops into Marine I thought it was all about the fish, but in the last 2 months I have been fascinated by the corals - the fish are almost incidental (Feel a little guilty about this) for me, in early days it has to be corals. The way the move, change hour by hour, expand, retract. I could watch them for hours. This may well change over time though!

Such a hard question, i have a favorite acro that came as a free frag a few years ago when i bought a tank and some rock from Kevin Douglas that i'd be gutted to lose, but i also like my tangs and my mated pair of tomatoe clowns and there rose bubble tip nem !

Hi,
Yes your right, I would, but I also had to answer the question from my heart. :)

My lipstick tang! but to be honest any of my tangs and I'd be pissed off! Came home one night and the return pipe has split and popped of the pump! In the sump was a water fountain! Not only was it a shock to me, but the noise and disruption killed my Flame Angel!
Mind u..my wife almost killed me with the mess over the carpet! hahah
id miss all my fish as all of them has great personality that ive found you dont get with freashwater fish. after that it would be my corals as i paid a lot for some of them.
I'd miss the Fish, especially the Flame Angel
