can you tell me what mandarins actually eat? is it just copepods? or do they eat other things like rotifers and things? i know they even eat pellets and flake, even frozen food sometimes but if they dont, what do they normally eat? i know they prefer copepods!
Thanks

Hi Zoe - I've no personal experience with Mandarins and my guess will be livefood around copepod size (1-2mm) and probably a little bigger. Juvenile stages of amphipods, shrimp, marine cladocerans, and brineshrimp will probably be taken as well. For your convenience if you have stock capable of taking formulated dry or frozen feed you should take advantage of it. In the meantime concentrate on keeping the pods going as these can be fairly reliable to culture, and recognised as being more nutritionally complete as a fresh livefood. Hope that helps. Cheers

so is that a mixed bottle of the 2? or do you send a small vial/whatever they come in, of both? i would ideally need rotifers and copepods seperately.
Thanks

Hi Zoe - they are cultured together as they have proved more stable like that, if the rotifers get too dense I'll strain them out. I do have a culture of only rotifers growing and they should be available later this month. Cheers
