After the seahorse has eaten, it will 'vent', as per the poor shot below, can I ask what this is called.

Sorry for the questions, still awaiting delivery of some 'research' materials.

not certain what it's called or exactly what they are doing, but all of mine did this so i guess it's normal.

Hya Its the remains of the food being passed out through the syphon vent. As the seahorse sucks up its food with so much force it gets crushed and the 'bits' come out here along with the excess water that is also sucked up with the food then subsequently expelled. I can't for the life of me remember what the technical term is, I'll bet Wombat will know.

Thanks for the feedback, can't find a name for it myself, but as you say it is normal and utilises the two syphon holes on the top of the head.

I've looked in my seahorse books and they just refer to it as a siphon. There are two syphon holes at the top of the seahorse head. Like you said, this is perfectly normal.:D
