Trying to suss the setup of a digital powerbar and the GHL dosing unit..

here's what I've done..

I've set the dosing unit (with 2 pumps) to socket 1 & 2.
I've then set the digital powerbar to sockets 3,4,5,6,7,8

I'm thinking that this is maybe wrong.. I mean, how does the dosing unit get power?

where do I plug in the connector cable? should I connect the powerbar to S1-S4, and then connect the dosing unit to the powerbar's RJ11 plug?

hm

it seems that it does not remember my setup of the powerbar.. it reverts to Socket 1,2,3,4,5,6

I would have the socket bar on 1-6 as it has a lot of functionality defaulting to that. Then have the dosing pump set to something like 11-12 (as it's 1 and 2 so easy to remember).

The dosing pump gets power by it's own power supply that would have been in the dosing pump box.

If you want to change the socket numbering of the unit you have to unplug everything else, program the units numbers, and then plug everything else back in. You will plug the dosing pump into the socket bar in a chain.

hmm.. I'm actually not quiiiiite following..

here's what I've learned since posting.

I set socket 1&2 as dosing unit, 3 as pH, 4 as active cooling unit for the lamp.

The digital power bar is set as sockets 1,2,3,4,5,6.

now it seems that I should've set the powerbar to 3,4,5,6,7,8 as I wanted, but unfortunately it defaulted back to 1,2,3,4,5,6 every time I tried.
I know this because the "lights" are on in the leds showing activity in pumps 3 & 4, which are not installed.. I figure these will follow the same cycle as the pH & active cooling as I set them...

hm....

Have you reprogrammed the socket bar to be 3-8 rather than it's default of 1-6.

no, that's what I tried to do, but it kept defaulting back..

I clicked 'program digital power bar or...'

i chose the 'set numbering'

I set the 1st to 3, the rest changed.

I clicked next

I clicked 'program'

instantly another option appeared 'ready' and I clicked that, and that was it..

I tried to go back to the programming screen to see if it'd changed, but it was still set to 1,2,3,4,5,6

It looks like you are setting the numbering correctly, when you go back into the option, it will still show as socket 1-6 as the unit doesn't know which plug bar you may have attached.
Go through the numbering again, and then use the manual overide to turn the sockets on/off in turn to check the numbering.
