Hi fantastic photos - have you got a full tank shot please?
Wondering whether to do something similar with my RSM.

Hi Thanks for the replies.

FTS:Taken before he horses were added.

Stats, What stats? It's a Red Sea Max 130, no sump, Std lighting 2 x 55w PCs, removed the Red Sea skimmer and replaced it with a Tunze 9002. Replaced one std pump with a Maxijet 1200.No Sump, but running a Fluval 205 with phophate remover, sponges and floss in there too. I know it's a 'Nitrate Factory' or whatever the usual erroneous term is for it, but I want the nitrate for the macro algae.

Tank mates: Yasha goby and Pistol Shrimp, Rainsford goby, Yellow Headed Jawfish. 2 blue neon gobiestwo blood shrimps to go in. 2 porcelain crabs, 2 pom-pom crabs, 4-5 red leg hermits, dwarf blue hermits, 2 banded sea serpents.

Got a big CUC as I feed heavy for the horses and for the Sun, Dendrophyllia and cup corals.

Water changes are planned for 10-20% weekly.

The tank is a temporary home as I can't set up my main tank yet, probably for a few months

Thanks again for the comments

Sorry i forgot, I got the sea horses from Southern Aquatics in Cadnam, West of Southampton (Just of to wash my mouth out). Cost is between me and them, I'm a regular visitor, too often according to my credit card statements.

Hi,

Your seahorses certainly do look great.

I had been considering doing the same with my Red Sea Max. I was worried the flow would be too great in the Max, I guess it must be OK. I have a couple of firefish and a six line wrasse at the moment, will these be OK?

Cheers

They'll take a lot of the food before the horses get to it, so you'll have to watch that the horses get some food. As for the flow, I turn off 1 pump when I 1st feed and turn it back on after 10 minutes or so.

My tank mates tend to be smaller, except the jawfish, but he/she tends to stay in the rockwork, rather than out in the open water column.

So you got the Jawfish then? :D How is it getting on? Mine has settled in well and is quite a bit more brave now.

He/She is doing fine, I understand that you can only sex them by the size of the head, the male has a bigger head, no sniggering please.

here he/she is.

I did see a blue spot for sale, but at £135, I couldn't do that, got this one from a tank shut down, from a friend

£135. Blimey! Nice pic of your Jawfish, they are funny little characters aren't they? For the first night ever, mine didn't dig up the sand. Oh, and I didn't snigger about the male having a bigger head honest.

I've only had him for a few days and he's taking food straight from the pipet. Saves him nicking it of the Sun Corals and the horses.

I think he may be pregnant.

Regret I don't have the required setup to raise the foals if he is successful in producing them. But looks as if I'm doing something right, so far so good.

Roll on the bigger tank
