can anyone recommend any photo import/catalouging software for macosx as an alternative for iphoto?

Or Adobe Bridge, but i'm not sure you can buy that outside the full 'creative suite' package.

Lightroom is excellent and so much more than just a catalogue. i rarly use photoshop anymore as lightroom can do almost everything i want.

you can download a 30 day trial at adobes own website.

Ditto... Lightroom is by far and away the best pro cataloguing/development software on the planet. You still need Photoshop, but less and less with each release.

Lightroom 2 ftw.. just bought it after using the free 30 day trial.. going by the box it's platform independent (I use it for PC).
