The snout should have some bumps on it, there were some pics on Reef Central that I can't find at the mo!

Try here (http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=273205) for the pictures Ben.

There are references that say the bumps/hooks on the nose are a falicy and that one can only tell by different body shapes. However I am now down to 1 smooth nose and one with hooks on the nose, which would suggest a pair.

So like sexing the jawfish, I'm just confused.

Ben i'm planning on getting a pair for my new tank, so we might be able to sort something out between us if Jason can get 2 males in!

Good luck in putting them together. I tried to put 2 together on Friday (I thought they were 2 females) and they tried to kill each other through the plastic bag as I floated the new one. Needless to say, one of them is in another tank. Vicious little fishies they can be. :annoyed:

joanna, as they are females they arnt bothering each other luckily. i was thinking of adding a male for both of them but not sure if that would work out ok or not?

Do the males DEFINATELY have nodules on their noses? Neither of mine did (I checked with a magnifying glass) so I thought they were both females. Now I'm confused as if that's right then it seems females can fight too. Unless I have just been unlucky. :(

Let me know if anyone has success in adding a female to a female or a male to a female without fighting. I really want a pair but am too scared to try adding another one because of the way they tried to attack each other. :annoyed:
