I have found the Barbouri to appear more fragile as well. I have two pairs and one of the females has always hung around at the top of the tank. I also have a male who is just a thin male. He always has been even after target feeding, worming and fw dipping. He eats well but sends me into a panic every few months as he seems to go so thin but he's been like this from day one.
The Reidi are considered one of the hardier spp anyway and I have found they behave quite differently to the barbs when it comes to settling/feeding.
If they've only been in a few days they should settle to the bottom of the tank after a week or two. Everyone I know who has barbs has mentioned they seem to take a long time to settle in. The fact they are chasing food and eating well is the reason not to worry. I know some people who have had to hand feed for the first two weeks!
All sounds pretty normal to me - just keep a eye on the food intake.
