Sorry no idea.
I assume you will find out in a couple of months when the Giants are visibly alot larger than the others.
Maybe worth looking up Simply Seahorses as I know they have experience of both...

Hi Denise
The darker ones look like my Reidi which aren't giants and your really yellow ones look more like Giant ones but I'm not sure either. You need a seahorse expert I think!

where is sailfin when you need ***

Have to agree with Eaval on both counts - I wouldn't have a clue how to tell the difference between the two. I don't think the different colours will tell you anything though - seahorse colouration between individuals of the same sp can be about as variable as it gets!
Is there actually a difference except the age of the SH? Brazilian giants are just large reidi with no other differences far as i have seen and read. Are they really reidi, most of the large horses get called giant the reidi, erectus, and kelloggi. The true giants are H.Ingens.

thanks for the help five of the seahorses are considerably bigger then one of them but i brought 6 giant and two reidi but i lost two .it seems on of each its just those two,a male and a female dont get it together although they spend all their time together.still got my two 15 week olds and now 1 four week old and 6 two week olds and 33, 2 week old barbouris.
What temperatures do seahorses want? I have heard that its slightly lower than most marine fish, but aren't there temperate seahorses too?
Many people seem to get them muddled up, and with mixed breeds now I think Identifying them is getting even harder.

Reidi seahorses should be kept at about 24° although some species require even lower temperatures.
