I used the original version of the CPR HOB Fuge, and couldn't fault it at all, ran it with a 600lph pump and compact light. Agree with Jobr, it was very well made indeed.

I use the original CPR HOB fuge, very high quality but is very expensive brand new for just an acrylic box with some baffles and pipe - hardly surprising in this hobby though...

oh i have just seen...
"CPR AquaFuge 2 Hang-on Refugium with Protein Skimmer, Large Features:
-Includes Rio 600RV Powerhead for Protein Skimmer
-Water Capacity: 4.5 Gallons
-Easy to set up "hang on the tank" design "

Isnt it a bit safe hanging 4.5 gallons of water with a levering motion on the back of the glass?

It is pretty heavy to be sitting (levering as you say) on the side of the tank but I have mine on my 6mm sump with no probs so far - most tanks are thicker than that.

Even if I thought my fabrication skills were up to it I wouldn't take the risk, think of the weight, the potential for flooding and electrical risks - if your confident go for it, personally I myself just wouldn't take the risk.

was just sat scratching my head over it..and its the idea of having the water continuously pumping through in the event something went wrong.

But then i see a similar problem with the hang on prizm skimmer (i know lamo) and its its inlet tube being attached weekly!

I may just have to get along with the cheato in a floating breeder cage for a while.

ok someones done it .
He has even put some basic instructions on.

Here it is (http://mylittlereef.com/RefugiumSetup.htm)

I am going to contact him and see how long he has had it going, and if he still has it going.
