View Full Version : Taking a Shot of Moon Light Tank
Anyone able to offer some advice how i get to take a shot of my LED Moon Light tank at night, its driving me nuts, either the flash comes on of if its off the camera tries some long waited time to take it and then if a fish or something moves in this time its blurred.
Any advice?
I have a Canon EOS 400D camera.
:thanks:
This has driven me nuts too. First knock your ISO up to 800 (I think ur camera will go to 1600) at least. Shoot in RAW, makes this so much easier. Leave it set on custom WB. Set the camera to Av. If ur using the kit lens I think you can set ur aperture to 3.5, anyway as low as you can get. Use a tripod and remote trigger if you have one.
Because you've shot in RAW when you get it into your editing package you can alter the white balance. You should be able to bump this up to 14000k - something you can't do in camera, at least not with the 400D.
Hope this is of some help.

No i have the new Wave LED lights.
You must use a tripod and remote shutter for this. Set your 400D to bulb, turn off all your pumps and play around with time of exposure.
use a tripod and long exposure, pumps off as said
a high iso will give you a noisy output
