Looking at buying a new camera,but being a novice am looking for advice as the best all round camera to buy.

Depends what you want to take pictures of.. what your budget is.. how much effort you want to put into taking pictures, etc..

There is no such thing as "the best all round camera" :D

What will meet your needs best may not meet the needs of the next person. The first step is to decide what your needs are.

This would be a good all rounder due to it's HD video capability, however, it's a large investment, and an even larger investment into the world of different lenses :D
But the video quality will be better than that of any 'off the shelf' camcorder. :)
