I have just ordered a HOB fuge 360 by cleartides for my 24g nano. After doing a bit of reading i think i will use miracle mud with chaeto lit by an arcadia pod 9w light http://www.cleartides.com/USERIMAGES/cleartides.jpg Please see the image above for those that don't know it. It comes with bioballs in the first chamber and has a hole that leads into the main chamber and overflows back into the main tank. Would i be right in thinking that the level i put the mud in is just below this hole. I am then planning to put chaeto on top of this and light 24/7. I have no experience of an eco sump so all ideas would be gratefully appreciated. Would i be better with caulpura or chaeto or a mix. If so what sort of caulpure. Appols for spelling.

miracle mud at a depth of 2.5 cm according to this link, lots of updates on this please as i'm doing the same but on a wave 45, just got the tank today, need to order the fuge, i'm going with chaeto as i believe other algaes can be prone to crashing, not decided yet on brand of mud although after research may go for the cheapest as they all sound similar, atm going for the 450 size fuge from ebay

what flow you having through yours?? i picked up a 350lph hydor pico today for mine, only paid 6 quid

Thanks for that. I think I've got a small eheim 250lph knocking around the garage somewhere so i'll use that tapped off as i've heard that 1x turn over ph would be correct, I am aiming for a trickle flow at the most. Just deciding what mud now as i won't need to much. Will keep posted.

I am going to buy one of these for my jewel vision 180 but is it best to buy the one with or without the sand bed.
