Has anyone had any experience with these? Only ever seen pics of them are they hard to get hold of?

:thanks:

If they are the white/tan coloured pipefish then they are easy to get hold of. They need a mature system though as they often won't take 'dead' food...

Yes that's what i was thinking of. I used to have a pair, they did very well in my reeftank although they did sit on all the corals!! Had them for a couple of years, as with all pipefish they don't live for that long... 2-5years mostly.

I've got a Snake Pipefish which is very similar although not quite as pretty and it loves newly hatched artemia. I don't know if it eats any frozen food though as I keep it well stocked with the artemia as I've had disasters with other Snake Pipefish. :( They are entertaining little characters. :)

I was thinking about building a AIO type tank with internal fuge across the back, probably be something like a 30"x15"x18"h if i can get oine with the fuge across the whole back and about 4" wide, do you thin that would be suitable? What are they like with flow, have heard they do alright with moderate flow.

:thanks:

Hi Denise

I've never seen the Jan's pipe fish or the Dragons. Must be a shortage around here. :annoyed: Are you getting 4 Blue stripes that live together because you know that they fight like cat and dog if they don't get on don't you? I know, I tried to put 2 females together. :hammer:

We've only got 2 babies left out of 6 unfortunately. The tank temp went up and Mark pulled the heater out and forgot to put it back in so it dropped down to just over 21. :( I don't think that helped. How many Reidi have you got?

If they're anything like the Snakes, they should be okay with the flow. Mine spends a lot of time on the sand and also climbs the rocks .... but..... when I put newly hatched artemia in the tank .... swims round like a silly fish munching them all. :D

hi joanna i ordered 4/ two pairs because i have got two tanks so i thought id put two in each.i have still got my older reidi,1/2 at 12 weekstwo at8weeksish ,two at 6 weeks 4 at 3/4weeks the last lot died i had aproblem with the tank i borrowed.but some more are due this week.spike still hasnt given birth yet but he ad tina are sulking at the moment because i moved the contents of their tank around and added two pipefish and a mandeine so they are both sitting at the back of the tank on opposite sides bit worried about sailfin and the aiptasiax didnt know it was so addictive lol
