Hi
Could you please advise where I can get the air intake piping for the above skimmer, I will need about 20' of it as I want to try and run the intake outside due to possible CO2 problems in the house (bit of an experiment to prove the point that it is CO2 issues as my PH is always at around 7.8). I was thinking of attaching a 'Interpet goldfish bowl filter replacement carbon filter' to it.

Has anyone else tried this with any success.

that is one hell of a demand on your skimmer pump trying to pull air through 20 feet of piping.

Hi
Thanks, but I dont have any other solution, cant keep window open as we are both at work so the air in the room is full of CO2, hence the PH of 7.8

how is there so much CO2 in the room? Is there no other reason why your pH keeps dropping?

The venturi control has a twist grip so anything like RO piping can be twisted into it and ran outside. I've done this with about 12mtr of RO piping and it has no issues at all... I saw about 0.1PH increase so and my PH was at 7.8...

Hi
So, running 12m of piping worked then, was it not too much of a draw on the pump (I run an MCE300 which has a maxijet 1000).

Thanks

Baically, it made no difference with the pump as the diameter of the RO tubing is sufficient for the volume of air needed (if it was much smaller, it would have had an effect... :)

Thanks fo that, I was thinking of hooking up a carbon filter like these (top one)
