View Full Version : Advise for a newbie please.
Hi all, I have a Red Sea Max which has been running for nearly 2 years now, after returning from a trip to my LFS I have decided to start doing some research on keeping Seahorses. I would love to upgrade the max for a bigger tank, but it’s just not feasible:mad:. What I can do though is get another tank and put in a different room:thumbsup:, again size will be an issue, so I am looking into getting a custom build with the tank being a lot higher than the normal nano. I would appreciate any tips you could pass on, but will still be going to the library and trawling though the various post on here.
Thanks, Steve.:thanks:

are you going to use the max or new tank for seahorses?
Looking to buy a new one, not another RSM though.

have you kept marines at all as you can use a lot of stuff you have already got but basically seahorses tend to like tanks with quite tank mates they require places to hitch onto.they do not like a high flow as they do not swim very well.they need live rock and good filtration and they require a tall tank.they need algae and a mature tank.they are finicky eaters but are beautiful fish to keep.if there are any pacific things you want to know please say
