when i start my new tank build id like to get a good quality digital camera, one for taking those really good close ups of corals etc.
what camera would people recommend for a novice?(nothing proffesional that costs thousands..)

Might be better to get this moved over to the photography section ;)
However, in terms of Macro shots you're it's less about the camera body and more about the lens... So you can go DSLR or some compact cameras have Macro functions on them where you can just point and click (will be nowhere near as good as DSLR though)
Look at Nikon/Canon etc... But be careful, photography can be just as expensive, consuming, involved and expensive as reefkeeping :whistling: Especially if you're looking at macro lenses

BTW I am by no means an expert, just have a camera that I play with... I have a Canon 400
