Hi there

Basic designs are on this forum etc - drain tank into first chamber with bioballs and then through baffle into mud filter and then over second baffle through live rock rubble or bioballs and into last chamber to the return pump.

A gap is made in the first baffle by siliconing two panes of glass into this area. The glass is held in place to keep them from moving leaving a small gap between them - this is where the drained tank water will feed into the mud filter.

I would suggest caulerpa as a rooting algae in the mud personnally and I can harvest some for you if you would like some. I also have a small amount of chaeto which I can also send to you.

Flow rates through the mud filter is suggested to get through there quite often - 15x or more I think

Regards

J

To allow the water to flow into the mud filter - the first chamber empties into themud filter in my sump through the gap along the glass baffle in the middle of this

here is a photo of my sump when I set it up last September
