Is there any more info about these units to be had? Just what i am looking for if the price is right, i googled it and read a bit about it on a canadian reefing forum with posts going back as far as 2007. Surely it should be out soon with prices available?

Thanks,

Ian

Any chance of making a mounting kit so they don't have to be suspended from the ceiling?

C. Schuhmacher
17-02-09, 21:40
Hi

You can use every mounting kit which is on the market
due to the flexible hanging kit is this easy

Wheat does it mean by 'Metal Halide shimmer effect available'?

also if controlled by the GHL, are all the tubes controlled on the same port, or can they be split to come on, dim, etc. at different times?

Looking forward to the price list :)

An alternative method of mounting is essential IMO, for those of us with aquarium resistant wives, no hanging for me, i'd have to find a way of pelmet mounting :(

I think it's a euro conspiracy, each annual Dutch event I end up with a name tag with Scoop on it.

Surely, if anything, I'm a double scoop with sprinkles!

Prices are out but my understanding is all FM items are about to go up, so the new prices won't be sorted for a few weeks.

As a guide they are roughly on a par pricewise with the KZ units I am told.

Hi

Yesi have prices but in UK we have a distributor which make the retailprices
so the prices are also depending on the different VAT in each country

The lamp is a little bit different to other lamps
we included special reflectors an automatical moonlight function
and manual/electronical controlable active cooling.
a easy change splashwater protection will be also integrated in the lamp

Any update?

Im looking at this unit or a ati powermodule.

Ive found prices on a european online shop, not sure how much extra we will get stung in thsi country.

an 8x24 watt powermodule is £492.00 without tubes

a 8x24 watt star fire units works out at £830, I hope that include tubes?

E_Wilky

Powermodule for me too if this works out too expensive, or doesn't come soon: 8 x 54W dimmable for less than £700.00, if the starfire is a lot more, i think FM have isolated themselves from a significant part of the market seeing as the Ultra Solaris is no longer available.
Some fittings have huge price tags, but all are simple beasts; T5's, dimming, fans, perspex and efficient reflectors have been around a while, however I do understand there is a need to recover R&D costs etc.

C. Schuhmacher

HI Wilky

The Solaris will come also back with a slightly new design and some changes
Due to European law changes we need to redesign the complete lamps.

We did not isolated us , we only build high quality lamps and did not use cheapest chinese crab in such important parts of an reef tank.
We included more technical details like LED and all parts we use are
german made.
No other lamps icluded this kind of moonlight and shimmer effect options like we do.
I didnt want to make a cheap lamp
Like you can see other great lamps are not cheaper than that what we do

And you also see that is is correct what i say after the fight about the Aquascience lamps. Nobody believes me what i say at the beginning of the sales , after the tests they all showed that all was correc what i say

I have often the discussion about other cheap lamps or pumps
i also see how much of them come back due to quality problems.
and which problem this create .

Please wait till the lamp is available in UK then you will see what i mean
We will make like in germany a special starter Deal for the first 10 Orders

Hi
I have been away this week and have to do a more detailed costing but I imagine if you allow a £ to 1 euro you will not be to far out as long as the price is euro SRP. I have to look at freight but will have them up in full next week.

I believe tubes are extra (remind me Claude)
