when after setting up a MM section should algae be added , and what kinds? and should it be on a 24/7 lighting cycle or a 12 hr reverse ;)

Its totally up to you really. I prefer caulerpa on 24/7 my phosphates are as near to 0 as they can be and my nitrates are around 2ppm

Using chaeto would not root into the mud but will mechanically filter the water due to the matt it will grow into

Probably easier to harvest but to run MM as the method states caulerpa and 24/7 is the way to go
