Can someone help me with some advice.

Whenever i take pics of my clarkii, i always get a ghostline to the side of her white bars.

Is this because im using flash?

Which camera and what settings are you using? Difficult to comment fully without some basic information.. ;)

You might want to look up chromatic aberration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatic_aberration). It can be corrected to an extent with some software packages.. but it's better to deal with it at source.

It could also be caused by shooting through the glass at an angle, the straighter you shooy through glass the less the opportunity for visual distortions.

Try increasing the aperture to f5.6 and bring the ISO back to the 100-400 range.. f14 is going to be way to narrow and that's why you've got the ISO up into the high noise levels..

thank you mate.

while im on the subject. what settings would you suggest for taking pictures using the light of the tank and not flash?

As before.. but crank the ISO back up to get the shutter speed to 1/150 to 1/250 depending how much the fish are moving. Because the aperture is now larger you'll get a shallower depth of field.. always aim to get the eyes of the fish as the focus point.
