I've decided to upgrade my ProfiLux Plus II to Ex specification. Essentially this is a replacement for the main circuit board inside the box.
So to anyone who has already done this upgrade - did you just junk the old circuit board? Or did you build another controller out of it?
Just a heads up there used to be a link on how to do this on the GHL site but just looked and its down so perhaps Steve can forward you the PDF if he has it or someone else can, sorry if you already have this though.

Yeah - I wasn't looking for information on how to do it, but what to do with the surplus circuit board. I just figured that as it's pretty much everything that makes the controller do it's thing - it wouldn't be too much effort to put it in another box and recoup some of the cost of the upgrade.

OH, OK i see where your coming from, sorry :o
speak with steve prehaps he can get you an empty box and you could make a slave unit up for the other box to act as a backup
Interesting question - I'd be interested depending on the price ;)

The EX upgrade, is actually an additional board that piggy backs on the current rear circuit board. There is no surplus board to make a new controller with. Even if there was, there is also a front circuit board which contains the processor and needs to be matched to the rear board to work.
The upgrade instructions can be found here:

Doh! :o
In my mind I assumed it was a replacement for the board that is already in there! Ho hum - never mind. Looking forward to getting it installed anyway. Thanks very much for the link. :)
