MM Cycle and cyano

I added MM to my sump a couple of weeks ago and I've had an outbreak of cyano where I had none before. Nothing has changed in the tank apart from adding the mud. I know that the mud goes through a cycle so is the cyano just part of it?
If it is should I just wait for it to burn off and maybe syphon out as much as I can?

IIRC, I recently read a post stating that miracle mud was highin silica, so it could be a diatom style bloom feeding off it. Alternatively, the mud could have caused a swing in some parameters, which could have instigated the cyano
