when are the RED SEA MAX Surface Skimmer upgrades going to be available to purchase in the UK

These have now been promised since December 2008 and it is now End March 2009

Actually we have supplied them with stock some time ago. The initial order placed by our UK distributors sold out far quicker than they had anticipated and there is a significant lead time due to demand elsewhere. The next delivery is due in around 4 weeks time and contains plenty of units.

I totally disagree with that statement as it is very miss-leading and places me in bad light with customers who have been waiting since before Christmas for these skimmers.

We had a box of the skimmers which were all advertised as a pre-order and these skimmers were flown in and delivered direct to us and I am not aware that they or any others in the meantime have been available through Interpet (your UK distributor) as we re-ordered immediately as all the pre-orders were taken up and sold before they actually arrived before Christmas.

So it is my belief that the skimmers have never been available through Interpet in any general form and as such your comment of "The initial order placed by our UK distributors sold out far quicker than they had anticipated" gives the impression these skimmers have been widely available but fell short of demand!

This is not the case as they were first delayed due to packaging and instructions pamphlets being produced incorrectly (which is why we had a box of them unpacked), then they were not added to a shipment due to space!

Now it seems demand in "other area's" is the issue!

As I have stated elsewhere, the information coming through between Red Sea & Interpet is worlds apart and as such I no longer repeat what I am informed from either company as it has direct repercussions on my business.

In defence of coventry aquatics, they have keep customers posted, however its RSM loss as I'm now upgrading to Tunze as it's took too long.:)

I can understand why there is frustration and for this we apologise. To put the record straight we flew in 2 separate small amounts of stock, which sold out instantly. The planned shipment of the main stock was delayed due to a situation that was unforseen and unavoidable by either Red Sea or Interpet. This shipment has now been shipped along with some other items which have been in short supply such as carbon & lamps. We do not forsee further lack of stocks now we have resolved the production issues. As I mentioned earlier we can therefore expect stocks to arrive in the UK shortly. Cov Aquatics has done a great job of supporting customers and the delays were certainly not their responsibility. Bear with us while we get the stocks into our distributor's warehousing and then out to retailers.

Any idea when these surface skimmers are due to arrive. I know on your last post you said they would arrive shortly, but we are now 3 weeks ahead of your last post and I'm pretty sure I could have walked here faster. :laugh:
Like everyone else, I've been waiting for this part since before christmas. Could we have a definitive date that Interpet will actually stick to. :whistling:

They are due 'en masse' in the UK in the next week or so (end April), and they should be available in the shops shortly thereafter. Same applies for MAX carbon, lamps, felt pads etc etc (oh, and a chunky number of Max 250's!)

We have the whole range of spares & accessories pre-ordered and as soon as they arrive actually in, we shall list them and make them available to everyone immediately.

In the meantime, we do have the fine filter pads, single & double fans & 55w tubes.
