Hi
Can anyone advise on the availablity of these reflectors in the UK?
I'm after the 'gull' type reflector as I want to add a couple of DIY T5's to my tank for an atinic light source. From what I have read, this reflector is one of the most efficent around.
Searches on UR, have resulted in tales of persons unable to source these in the UK, or retailers unwilling to place an order through D&D as they attract an additional shipping surcharage? (although some of these posts were rather old and things may have changed)
I'd be really greatful if you could point me in the direction of the best place to get these from?
Many Thanks
Al

nice one Tony.
These look like a good product.
I can't really afford the postage from Europe, so I'm hoping we can come up with something in this country! :D
Hi Al
Not great news im afraid, these havent been on our product listings for about two years,we are going to try and order some Razor reflectors in soon in limited numbers but it may take a while to get them in im afraid.
Sorry i cant be more help.

No Problem Tony.
Thanks for your help anyway.

What a sorry state of affairs this country is in when you cant get parts for a light thats made in Germany supposedly. Its about time these distributers got there act together and sorted it out, in a trade like the fish keeping industry its an appalling going on. Its no wonder the Chinese are running rings around us all while we stand with our fingers up our Butts. Why are these manufacturers selling these products and not having backup spares for there goods. Its like buying a VW car and after 6 months the gearbox blows, and your told oh we are sorry we dont supply those they come with a new car. Come on D-D get your act together and get some parts for us Reefers. This is not a rant just plain talking. Eric:D

It is easy to be an expert from the side lines.
The reality is that we get very few requests for replacement reflectors, which are available and normally the customer is happy to pay £10 delivery as they would probably pay that to be delivered in the UK.
Perhaps the reflectors are too well made and that is why we do not get many people asking for them - German manufacturing for you.
Actually one of the problems with Chinese equipment is getting the spares and the reason they are low cost is because they often use old technology and get paid nothing for labour costs not because they are efficient.

Its not just the Deltect refectors that aren't readily available in the UK.
The only ones I can source for T5's are the Arcadia ones. From what I have read, the others (including the Deltect Gull Wing) are far superior in terms of efficent light reflection.
I want the best for my tank, therefore I'd rather avoid the basic 'round' reflectors.
I'm surprised given this day and age a LFS has not cottoned on to this. Just look at all the posts where people are embracing the T5 technology.
Given that I can't easily source these in the UK, can D&D perhaps point me in the direction of a German retailer who I could approach for these?
Cheers

Okay, all sorted now.
I got the last pair from UR sponsor South West Marines :D
Apparently the last lot he ordered flew off the shelves.
Cheers

Nice one South West Marines.
I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes. As I've said before, more and more people are embracing the T5 techology and not everyone can afford Powermodules etc.
You must be the only retailer in the UK that does these. :D
