It depends (doesn't everything?)..
It depends which shots you would like to take.. (any examples?)
It depends if you can find a second-hand bargain (you always get a better camera for the money going used).
If you're just looking for shots that look good at screen/web resolution.. then you can probably get a nice compact with manual controls, again going for something used to get better features - although with perhaps a lower pixel count than a new camera, but don't worry about pixels.. 4MP is enough for a good web-sized image. It's the manual controls that you need more than pixels.
basicly i want something that will give me nice detail on my corals showing the colours for a reasonable price , reasonable being 100 pound
but i think i may be being a bit tight in the pocket area wanting something for so cheap lol
I would try looking at a second hand digital SLR.
You should be able to pick something up for around £100 including a decent lens.

would very much doubt that body perhaps but not with lens' as these tend to hold their prices or actually increase as of late
Second-hand DSLRs with kit lens should be available under the £200 mark for a Nikon D40(a new one with kit lens is now widely available under £250).. but that won't get you a decent macro lens for close-ups.
Best bet would be a new or secondhand Fuji or Canon compact camera with a decent macro mode.. have a look at some of the pictures people have posted, make a note of the camera model used and do a Google for prices on those models.
