Hi all, Help appreciated not really had many cameras but would like to buy one now. Would like to photograph tank and inhabitants.I also live in a wonderful mountainous area so would like some scenery shots.
What camera would you advise, not got a big budget max is £400 new or second hand would like a digital.

probably not got much response as its on software.

not the best photographer by any means and dont know loads but i have a Nikon D60 which i really like.

Best thing is to just go to a shop, have a play with a couple, then find the camera online OR if you prefer face to face sales, buy it there :D

Try a refurbished Canon, follow the link from the Canon website to the UK Canon reseller (on Ebay). The quality of photo will be determined by the lens as much as anything, landscapes deserve a good wide angle, although you can get excellent results stitching images taken with a nifty fifty lens.

There's a lot of Nikon D40s and Canon 300/350/400D models about secondhand at the moment.. I've seen several in the £200-350 range depending on what they came with.

There's a review on that model here (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/OlympusE520/).. current best deal on the two lens kit is about £445 or so..

Olympus are a good make, have some nice lenses., the Zuiko lenses are very nice.. but you get what you pay for!

Speaking of lenses.. remember that you're buying into a system.. the body is only half as important as the lenses you buy now and in the future. Have a think about what lenses you might like in the future.. get hold of the last year or so of issues of Practical Photographer in your local library and have a read..

Other cameras with a kit lens to consider around that price point..

Canon EOS 450D and 18-55mm IS Lens, £480, review (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/CanonEOS450D/).

Nikon D60 and AF-S 18-55mm VR Lens, £330, review (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikonD60/).
