RSM Skimmer stopped working

Hi Guys,

My RSM has now been running beautifully for 6 montyhs with no real issues. Just fitted the new skimmer attachment which took a short while to get right so that the water flow was sufficient through the system.

However, the skimmer has stopped working, it';s not producing foam and no matter how i adjust the air valve, I can't seem to get sufficient bubbles to produce skimmate.
the skimmer pump seems to be working ok and the water levels are all fine

any ideas?

Hi.

I am having the same problem with my new RSM 250 skimmer pump was working fine for a week, now it stops working.

If I turn the skimmer pump off to do some work in the tank, turn back on it will not producing foam and no matter how I adjust the air valve

I found that I could get it going by blowing down the air hose. Once it going it is fine.

Not a good solution, may work for you.

Another problem to report back. I am not having much luck with this RSM tank.

bizarrely the skimmer just started to work again... bloody thing!

make sure the air hose is not got any kinks in it as this has effected the performance for me recently, also make sure the end of the hose is out of the water as this will also effect the performance

Yeah, done all that, there was no rhyme or reason for the skimmer stopping, I haven't moved or changed anything, just really strange.

I put it all down to the weather....not that I'm complaining :-)
