View Full Version : Heeeeeellllpppp!!!!
It looks like the lighting circuit on my RSM has failed.
The timer is still moving round, everything else is working, just no lights.
I can't see any fuses or anything else that might have blown.
Everything is going to die!!!
any ideas
have the bulbs come loose?, do you have replacement bulbs you can try to see if its them? Not very technical myself sorry, i hope someone on here can help better then me.
Ill keep my fingers crossed for you
Thanks skully
Yes I've checked the bulbs, they where new in March but I kept the old ones just in case. Have swapped both to test.. and still nothing. I've emailed interpet with my proof of ourchase but so for zero response apart from the automated system. I'm not a happy bunny tonight, managed to borrow 1 aquaray which is barely enough light but it's better than nothing. :-(
i would try pm'ing redseasteve on here he has a very good reputation for helping people and getting things done, he has help me on a few occasions, were abouts are you based? i have a spare silver hood you could borrow until it is sorted?
Hi Skully. I'm in staffordshire unfortunately. Steve normally picks up stuff quite quickly on here, I'll pm him in a sec, still no response from Interpet. I've managed to borrow 1 marine blue Aquaray off the local lfs but that will only hold me for a couple fo days.
Really appreciate the offer but I think it will logistically too difficult to get the hood up here. If I don;t get it sorted in the next 24 hours though, may take you up on your offer and am more than happy to pay any shipping costs if you are prepared to courier it.
cheers

Hi Guys
an update, no response from interpet!!!
Held on the phone for 1hr 20mins this morning and couldn't get through. Has no one come across this before???
No response from Steve either, everything is starting to look very sad, I am seriously not a happy bunny, just about to lose £400 of stuff through **** customer service.
Skully I'm really tempted to take you up on your offer of borrowing your hood, how much do you think it would cost to ship to staffordshire
cheers

I had a reply from customercare@interpet.co.uk
"We would advise that we are endeavouring to obtain the required parts for you and will forward them shortly.
We thank you for your patience."
I am not very happy either.
Hi simon,
At least you've had a reply, I've had nothing!! Now been on hold for a total of 4 hours, me and the voicemail lady are on very good terms.
I've managed to rig some lighting up but everything is starting to fade. To say the least I'm not impressed, will NEVER buy anything from Red Sea again.
cheers

Bad times mate, not sure on the postage i would estimate around the 15-20 mark but that is a guestimate! you could pay me via paypal as a gift so i dont have to pay fees! could post tomorrow for you if you need, its silver btw with a 2 pin plug but that would be plugged into the socket in the tank section where your one is now.
just let me know buddy.
Hi Skully Great news, Steve Halls is coming to my house this afternoon to hopefully fix the hood, I'll keep you posted. I really appreciate your offer.
cheers

No problem mate, hope it gets fixed!!! let me know what the problem was and the solution so if it every happens to me ill know what the issue was!!
That good news, I hope it all goes well for you and Steve can fix the hood for you.
Simon
It's all fixed :applause:
Steve from Red Sea came to the house today, identified and fixed the problem.
It was the main relay which switches the LED's, lights and hood fans.
I'm really grateful to Steve for taking the time out to help.
He did also say that this is a very unusual problem and one he has seen rarely so I think it's safe to say that I was quite unlucky.
It was interesting to look at the electronics in the hood as well, it's quite well built.
If the lights do fail, the thing to look for is if the fans and LED's are also not working, if this is the case then it almost definitely the relay.
cheers
Linds
