Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd let you know that my RSM hood is fixed, :applause:

The problem was that the main relay in the hood had failed which Steve Halls said was a very rare.

For future reference, in the unlikely event that this happens to you, check to see if the fans are still running and the LED's work.

If they dont then its the main relay that's failed.

If everything else works that it is the ballast only.

Anyway, big thanks to Steve for sorting this out for me, I can relax now :thumbsup:

I did eventually get an email response from Interpet as well to ask the colour of the RSM.

No response yet to my reply so I must email them to let them know the hood is fixed.

Steve said they will be drowning (no apologies for the pun) in calls from pond owners as the pond season is in full flow :) - another pun - can't resist as I'm so relieved about my tank

Hi all,

I think I haved the same problem with my RSM 130 (I've only just collected it as well). It's not new so no point trying warranty claims etc. I can hear the timer working, but no lights (mains or LED), fans etc. despite switch positons etc. I know the tubes work

Is the relay a fairly common type that I could swap out myself, or is it some weird type that I am unlikely to locate at RS or Farnell.

Saving grace is I have access to a spare hood so I'll use that for now giving me some time to try to repair my hood.

sorry for going off subject but does anyone have a spare hood i could purchase does not have to be working
