We have posted on several forums, including UR on the correct way to maintain a stable temperature in the Max 250. The aquarium does not generally require a chiller, although of course it's always worth installing a chiller in ANY reef aquarium in order to safeguard against a rise in ambient temperature, or against any form of equipment failure. The Max 250 will typically run at approx 4C above ambient temperature. However it is important to set the MAX up properly.
