View Full Version : Running cost
can any member that run's a 130- 130d give me an idea of the running cost's ( electricity) i may set one up for my son :) he's fish mad :)
Hi Tom this is what I came up with for a standard 130D. I could not remember the wattage of the circulation pumps but it is very low. I went for 6 watts each for the 2 small ones and 12 for the skimmer pump.
Total Watts used: 440 watts Watts per annum: 31025 hours per year Kilowatt hours used: 31.025 kw/hrs Lighting: £44.81 per year (481.8 kw/hrs) Pumps: £24.44 per year (262.8 kw/hrs) Filtration: £0 per year (0 kw/hrs) Heating: £10.18 per year (109.5 kw/hrs) Other appliances: £0 per year (0 kw/hrs) TOTAL: £79.43
You can go to a practical fishkeeping website and use their calculator if you know how much your electricity costs. The heater I put down as being on for 1 hour in 24 heating is not a problem for me. Lighting 12 hours a day. I don't think the little fans are worth counting in.
Cheers
John
