Went to an apartment of some freinds last night and decided to take this shot:

Interesting..

We're in the critique section, right? ;)

I'm just not sure that there's enough of the woman in the shot to be one thing or another.. and what there is, is hiding down the bottom.. it works slightly better for me if you crop off the top half of the shot.. that way the glass has a more meaningful percentage of the surface area.

Focus and processing are spot on.. I'm just not sure about the composition.. sorry..

I know what you mean looking at it now, I think I got the shot I was after but now realise a little more face would have been better:). It was one of those moments where I could see the shot in my head and for a change had my camera with me:rolleyes:

I was concerned that the f/2.8 was too wide and maybe I should have had the background slightly more in focus (still blurred though). I know it was taken infront of a marina but I'm not sure it's obvious.

Here's the same pic, but smaller so it is viewable on the screen without scrolling

Is this what you meant for cropping

I nthink the crop is better.. but it's still lacking something..

Good idea though.. I'll mark it down to try in the future ;)

I think the aperture is spot on btw.. DOF if nice with good bokeh balls in the background.

I would have kept it 'portrait' for the crop personally...
