View Full Version : Apple MAC - OS
Steve,
Are there any plans to get the software working on the MAC os?
I have discovered the delights of the MAC world and want to rid my house of PC's.

Hi Craig,
I don't think there are any plans, the current software will run under parrallels and with the profilux III it will have a built in webserver that will work on Macs, so I don't think they will invest the time until the III comes out with it's webserver.

Hi Steve,
Is your current understanding that all tasks will be possible through the web interface?

I really don't know, I think we will all have to wait until the III is revealed. I know Matthias has stated that it isn't economic to rewrite the application for MAC as the future will be control through a web browser, whether that is everything from the moment it is released I don't know and as it is still being written I don't think they will know either.

Just to add I use the GHL software on my Mac using Parallels.
Couldn't get it linked in through the LAN card (probably user rather than system problems though).
I use the serial cable with a USB converter. Only (slightly) awkward thing is that I have to start Parallels before I plug in the USB cable otherwise it doesn't recognise that it's there).
Andy :)
Not using parallels as there is no way I am putting Windows on my Mac (in any form), kind of defeats the object IMHO.
I have spare laptops and can always use them in my engine room, but my point is I want to use my MAC, a web interface would be ideal.

 I used to think the same about windows, but after a decade of owning a mac I'm afaid to say you can't get by without having access to windows somehow.
so either you need an emulator or a spare pc.
parallels is brilliant compared to it's predecessors like virtual pc, and takes only moments to start up and shut down.
agree that a web interface would be the best solution :)
Can't wait for them to release the web app/server - can't stand using parallels on my machine.
Anybody releasing software have to always take all platforms into consideration, and creating a web application running through a browser is the way forward. Glad to see GHL finally going ahead with this. And next up will be a great iphone application I'm sure - if developers get access to the GHL software API :D
