View Full Version : Before and afters
It would be really good to get some before and after pictures from everyone.
Before = aquascaped but no stock
After = current picture
I'm under the impression that it doesn't matter too much how you aquascape, all tanks look awesome when they have life in there.
I know these pictures exist in individual posts, but never together. it would really help every newcomer who is starting out. (like me)
I like the sound of this! I'll pop some pics up when I get home :D

Sounds like a great idea. I'm sure it will highlight the vast differences that can be seen from initial cycling of tank to a few months/years down the line.

I agree, i think this will be a cracking thread. A quick fix of what can be acheived.
I think that trend will continue, I'm never completely happy with the look and always convincing myself something would look better moved over there :whistling:

I hate aquascaping with a passion, its such a difficult thing to get right. I think also what alot of pepole forget is that the rock work at some point needs to make room for the coral that often comes attached to LR.
I think thats why most re-scape, well thats why I did. And now Im at it again

It's a corkscrew Gorg. Ocean Corals had loads in last week and Paul had sold them within a couple of hours on here.
Hi Jennybugs, Thanks for the comment :) Yeah as Cav said it's a corkscrew gorg (cirripathes sp.) I got it off Paul at ocean corals its a beauty :D its only been it the tank since friday.

Think Paul (Ocean corals) said he is off to get more corkscrews tomorrow. As Cav says they go like hot cakes so I would drop him a line.... A small one would look cool in your fluval - non-photosynthetic I think ?

I think people forget they are non photosynthetic and are not the easiest corals to keep alive for long periods of time...
Yeah i'v been target feeding mine every other day since i got it with roti's,cyclops, plankton. It has good polyp extension and looks great i hope with regular feeding i can keep it healthy :).

Hi cdurkin100,
I notice from your pics that you are running a Marysis 240 on a Juwel aquarium. I purchased a Marysis recently and fitted it last weekend. The skimmer took out waste for the first day but since has taken nothing. It may still be bedding in but just wanted your thoughts on the systems and to see if you have had to alter anything since installing.
I have taken out all of the filter media and trays and replaced with live sand and cheato algae. I am also considering putting some LR rublble in there too.
Thanks
