View Full Version : Eeeek independent dosing station not turning on!!
I've had my 3 pump independent dosing station for a couple of months now, which I bought from STM, and it has run flawlessly.
I decided to switch from balling lite to classic and wanted to add an extra pump to do so. This afternoon I've just added the additional pump, and tried turning the unit on and nothing seems to be happening; the pumps wont run nor will anything appear on the screen. :(
I dont think there is anything obvious I have missed. I was careful taking the unit apart and it worked up until the minute I disconnected it to add the extra pump and I've tried turning it on just with the original three pumps connected to the circuit board and still nothing happens. :confused:
Any ideas?

you need to re-check everything even that the supply is switched on

Is the screen backlit or is there no sign of life at all? If the former, then use the switch on the mains socket rather than pushing the power supply into the back, if the latter then it will be a connection that has come out, check the ribbon cables are seated correctly.

Thanks guy, still no luck though. :(
I've tried plugging it into different wall sockets which are working for other appliances.
And nope, no sign of life at all Steve, including the green power LED. I just disconnected and reconnected all the ribbon cables, and that didn't change anything.
It's so strange because as I said, it was working perfectly until I unplugged it, was very careful in adding the additional pump, decided to check it was working before I snapped it all together again, and was such a surprise when it didn't spring back to life! :confused:

does the plug have a fuse, and have you checked it??
Yup, tried another two this evening, although to be honest both were rather old! Tomorrow I'll try and get hold of a new one to rule that out being the problem.

i only mention it because i had a similar thing with my old imac. one day it just wouldn't turn on - tired everything i knew to get it working but it was dead.
i was absolutely gutted because all my photos, music, etc was on it. i took it to a local computer shop to see if the hard drive could be recovered. went back 2 days later and he had it up an running in the shop! thought it was going to cost a fortune for the repair... but it was only the fuse that was gone and the guy didn't even charge me for the new one :o:o:laugh::laugh::dance:

It is a good point about the fuse though, and weirdly I realised my skimmer wasnt working on saturday, and it was running off the same plug bar, but other things are still working fine on there. Couldnt be a link could there? :confused:
