Hi
is the noise from dry or wetside.
Either part we can swap or simply replace the pump. Droning is more often an alignment problem.
I would open the wetside up as per the ecotech video and just make sure everything is nice and tidy no parts to loose etc, then reset the pump align on glass, when it is as quite as possible run the calibration disconnect routine.
Allow 24 hours for pump to settle if that fails then we swap it out.

hi jez this is the second wet side Ive had as the first one was falling off , i left it a couple of days then found the prop shaft had snap , put a pump in the tank wail Steve at reef dreams sorted it out, the pump burnt out in the tank and cost me a yellow tang , sail fin, anemone some snails and some crabs , now i know the vortech is not to blame for this but if the pump had not broken i would not have had to put the old pump in the tank , so that's also a good reason to be a little bit pi//ed off at the noise from the second wet side as the first one was a lot quieter , i am reluctant to strip the wet side down as i don't want any other issue with it.
Hi
If it will help I am happy to arrange a total exchange of the pump for a new one we have tested on the bench and replaced the bearing.
I can arrange to swap it through interfish so you only need to drop off and collect so your tank is not offline for long.
