Has any 1 had experience on fitting them in to a rsm 130. I'm thinking about changing over because the heat is a nightmare. I have upgraded my lid to have more fans to cool the ballasts for the T5 compacts but it still haets the water. on the hotter days of summer my tank can go up in temp by 2-3 degrees. Thankfully I'm in cold Aberdeen and it doesn't happen very often :).
In my opinion I think the aqua rays are a great idea for smaller tanks at the moment and maybe future progress will make them great for larger tanks.
Also means I can get rid of those god damn fans. My rsm sounds like a bloody pc.;)
If someone has done this how many would you recomend and what types (ie white, blue, daylight etc)
Hi,
I think most people who've done this mod use them as an addition to the stock lights rather than a replacement. Might be worth waiting to see what the new light tiles from tmc are like before making any decisions.

Hi Ive got a RSM 130 and within about 6 weeks realised a chiller was in order, comes on in the summer about 3 times a day for about 20 mins at a time, I also have an aquaray as well as the standard lighting. Sean

Ok thanks for the help. I just thought the Aquarays would be a good idea because I like the effect they give off and looked at purchasing one to go along side the standard lights and buy a chiller.
Then I thought with the price of a chiller I could probably replace all the lights with aqua rays and do away with the power compacts gubbins that cause all the heat.
Also wasn't sure how good the aqua rays were in comparison with standard lights.

type in red sea max owners club in google, should take you to a page on reef sanctuary. look at the stickys for rsm mods and under that is all the mods on the rsm including adding an aquaray, theres recently been someone whos found a way to add one without cutting the hood up so do check it out. hope this helps

Chiller is an Aquaone model 250 n a fluval G3 canister filter as the return pump. Sean
Hi mate I use three aquarays instead of the red sea stock lights I used the sticky tabs from the vortech pimps to attach them so no drilling hood etc just good old cable ties works perfect
