Would just like to say a big thank you and congrats:applause: on in our eyes having the best shop in the north west, nobody even comes close to your quality size and stock no matter what the problem you are always there with a friendly face and and fantastic advice .
In the past the abyss have had some stick in Ur and from other shops but at the end of the day nobody beats your volume of customers and in my eyes that speaks for its self :worship:
Mark love your sense of humour and Ann Marie you could sell sand to Arabs but your good at your job and like Mark a wealth of knowledge. :D and well done to the rest of the staff
right I'm off before your heads get to big to get in the shop door
all the very best for the future
Lisa and Paul

To anybody who has ever said anything bad about the abyss:p:p:p:p
:thanks::thanks::thanks:

Bump

personally i don't understand why anyone would bump that post unless they were just trying to increase their posting count

i have been to abyss and thought it was ok. it has strong competition from cockfields and the one with the name the same as a watering hole in the desert. abyss has a good selection of fish, but lacks a quality coral section (not being negative, just providing feedback).

it's a shame that both abyss and the desert watering hole shop both keep a number of large fish in tanks that are far too small for them. (desert watering hole being the worst culprit).

that's why i spend my money at cockfields :whistling:

Id be pretty sad to put some thing like that on about my work place wouldn't I. I bumped it because i don't think the shop gets much positive on here and your all very quick to **** shops off i have been to some really bad shops but i don't jump on here and **** them off I've been to one today that advertised a huge marine section we got there it had 3 or 4 fish so for now until you have a shop that is the size quality and quantity in the north west then let me know!!!!!!!
yes i have been to the one in salford and like that shop to but its a bit cramped but its ok

Have been there a couple of times the kids like to feed the goats and stuff but the fish bit is untidy and tanks are a bit glum i like clean tanks they mean healthy fish lots of care and attention.

I've been to all 3 shops. I feel that the selection of fish in Abyss is awesome, however I feel PP is correct in saying thatthe corals is not as good. CF'c fish isn't as good, but there corals are awesome. The watering hole in the desert is hit and miss, sometime awesome, sometime not so. Not having a go at any of the shops, they are all good compared to my LFS's!

we all have our favourite shops. my local one has a poor selection of fish and corals, but the people are great and will bend over backwards to help or get in anything i ask them for - that's why they're my favourite shop... and where i spend the bulk of my marine budget.

I've been to a few NW shops and Abyss beats all others in terms of livestock. I enjoy talking to Mark but don't get him started on sumps v cannisters ;)
I think the new store (more like aircraft hanger) is fantastic and Ann Marie was brilliant with my kids last time I was in.

I've not purchased coral from there yet and there are other places that specialise in SPS/LPS, so maybe not quite #1 in this department.....yet

No you're at it Mate, not not number one in the coral department!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok you might be right there: but Anne-Marie and kids your having a laugh :):) puts up only short term unless they have pocket money:thumbsup:

What do you want to see in corals? we don't like to chop em up! Tell us what you want but to be honest some shops sell them so cheap that they just are not worth stocking it's just turning money over and that won't pay the bills but if you give us the nodd ( anyone) and it's mutually viable we will do our best.
Regards someone other than Anne-Marie who is from the Abyss who prefers to remain nameless as Anne-marie BITES:laugh:
