Fitted the MP20 on Saturday morning and the prop kept jamming, making the controller LED's go to error code.
Also, never really impressed with its output, jst loads of noise for no water movement.

Eventually, after loads of messing about, it started to work 100%. An hour later i left home, all seemed well. Untill 3 hours ago when i got home, the pump was off, the controller LED's were off and the tank looks terrible, looks like no pump working 30hours!

I have took it apart, as per Vortech's website, the nut that secures the propeller down onto the shaft will not tighten, everytime the pump starts, it unwinds the nut off the shaft:mad::mad:

Any idea's?

Mine sheared on my MP40w meaning I could not tighten it causing whining, ended up buying a replacement magnet to obtain the nut and screw needed.

Make sure that the white bearing is fully seated in the hole. If it's not flush with the hole you will never be able to tighten it properly. It will either be too loose and the nut comes off or too tight and the prop won't spin. ( been there, done that !)

Also check the magnet, found mine had stuck to the wetside cover, took apart and gave a good clean and a little smear of grease and np since.

Cheers guys.

My findings.....

The internal side magnet scrubs against the cover.
The propeller spins for 20 seconds, the nut loosens, the propeller stops, LEDs display error!
The pump is noisy... the nut loosens, the prop wobbles, the magnet catches the backof the wet side.
Im not impressed :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I replied to your PM via email the same day you sent it.

I had the vortech running constantly for 3 weeks before selling it on, it was unplugged cleaned and re packed in it's box.

I did not have one problem with it in the whole time I had it, which can be verified by several people who all saw it running !

I brought it off someone on here too so it's got a traceble history, the only reason I sold it is because I broke my whole tank down.
